Insight Realty Company’s Museum Place development team is composed of a seasoned group of local and international real estate investors and designers. Insight’s lead investor is China New Era Group Corporation and the group has retained Steinberg, a locally-based and internationally recognized architecture firm. Kimpton, the leading U.S. boutique hotel developer and manager, is the project's hotel development partner. Insight, along with the assistance of Silicon Valley Synergy, will drive a public/private partnership with San José and The Tech that will create a development that is truly special.

Museum Place will be innovative and revolutionary. It will stay true to The Tech’s mission statement of “creativity per square foot” with its unique design, which will seamlessly incorporate museum space, retail and restaurants, public space, creative office space, residential units and a hotel.

The project will include a 60,000 square foot expansion space of The Tech, focused on the lower level. This will be the most exciting exhibit space in The Tech constantly changing to showcase new exhibits and projects. It will also be used for special events produced by The Tech’s many supporters. Expansion of this space will allow for fully integrated and seamless growth of The Tech well into the future, and provide increased flexibility to address its future exhibit needs.

In addition to meeting the needs of its residents and corporate tenants, Museum Place will offer many benefits to the people of San José:

  • A new retail store to support The Tech that will benefit from exposure directly to Park Avenue.
  • A café restaurant serving The Tech, offices, residents, and surrounding areas, which will also add vitality to the street life along Park Avenue.
  • An auditorium that will serve the needs of The Tech and office tenants.
  • Group spaces that can service The Tech during the day and used as event space in the evening.

    The project includes 650 commercial and residential parking spaces with a large supply of 400 parking spaces available for special evening events at The Tech.

    The design concept is to create a development that provides new opportunities and synergies consistent with the long-term goals of the City of San José, The Tech and the developers of the project.

    The project includes four stories (approximately 210,000 square feet) of office space designed to appeal to the culture of the Silicon Valley workforce. Museum Place will provide:

  • Abundant daylight that will permeate through large floor plates.
  • Higher open ceiling heights to enhance the work environment and support large open-office environments.
  • Outdoor spaces, not commonly found in an urban environment, to allow for the types of activities and gatherings that high-tech employees expect in the workplace, such as barbecues, entertainment, social gatherings, outdoor work areas, recreational space and relaxation areas.
  • World Class Hotel
    World Class Hotel

    The project will offer a new world class hotel and restaurant experience, which is the first Silicon Valley hotel by Kimpton, the leading U.S. boutique hotel developer and manager. The dazzling hotel, which will blur the lines between business and pleasure, will feature:

  • 173 rooms and suites.
  • 8,000 sq. ft. of meeting space
  • Street-level full-service restaurant and a grab-and-go café.
  • Outdoor pool, fitness center and rooftop bar.
